National Forest Week in Belarus

National Forest Week is an annual event that is usually held in Belarus in April. This year Forest Week was observed from April 10 to April 24. It was organized by the Ministry of Forestery and supported by many organizations, enterprises, companies, schools and individuals. It was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War (World War II). The motto of this campaign was "New forests are for new generations to inherit."
ENO schools took an active part in this event. Among the most active participants were Slonim gymnasium 1, Mizhevichy school, Slonim schools 2 and 4, Vitebsk gymnasium 6, Berezino gymnasium, Borisov gymnasium 1, etc. They made a great contribution in planting forests and keeping them nice and clean. More than 18,000 trees (that is 14 hectars of forest) were planted. The territory of two parks and one heactar of forest were cleaned from rubbish.
